Surprise your family and friends at your next 4th of July celebration with homemade decorations! They'll be impressed with your creativity and the decorations will look dazzling. Begin with handmade candle holders. Collect clear glass containers, such as glasses or cylinder-shaped vases. Measure the height and circumference of each container. Cut white glassine according to the measurements. Wrap the glassine around each container, and adhere with double-sided tape. Cut strips of red and blue ribbon to wrap around the glass as stripes. Adhered with doubled-sided tape or glue stick. Use battery operated votives inside each candle.

Handmade fireworks are a must for a 4th of July party. You'll need 3"x15" sheets of red, white and blue vellum, double-sided tape, bamboo skewers, mason jars and sand. Fold a sheet of vellum in half twice lengthwise. Cut slits every 1/8 inch. Leave an inch at the top uncut. Unfold the paper and attach an uncut corner to a skewer. Wrap the paper around several times. Once you reach the end, secure with tape. Curl the lower strips. Fill mason jars with sand. Place one of each color firework in each jar.

Dress up napkins for the 4th of July with homemade cute stars. Create a star template that's 2 inches high. Trace it to cut out red and white stars. Punch a hole at the top of each star. Roll blue napkins. Using red string, tie a red star and white star around each napkin. For added fun, write the first name of each guest on the white stars.
