Hanukkah is a special time to create homemade party supplies, such as the Star of David garland, candles, and party favors. To create a garland that can be used most anywhere in your home, make several stars using blue and white triangles made from stock card and double-sided tape. Punch a hole at the top of each star and string with ribbon.

Handmade candles will look beautiful as part of your Hanukkah celebration. Save your tin cans. Create different size triangular templates out of stock paper. Using a hammer and nail, poke holes into a tin can by using one of the templates. Equally space out the holes. Flip the template over and line it up with the poked triangle to form a star. Poke the holes. Poke three stars of different sizes on each can. Spray paint the cans blue. Use battery operated or real votives inside the cans.

Make homemade monogrammed Hanukkah cookies as party favors. Use a shortbread recipe, roll and cut out star shaped cookies. Using clean rubber stamps, stamp each guest's initials in the center of a cookie. Refrigerate the cookies for a half hour before baking. Once cookies are baked and cooled, use a star tip frosting decorating tip to add a blue border to each star. Place a star on the center of each place setting.

A handmade Hanukkah tic-tac-toe game will provide fun for kids of all ages. Paint a 9"x9" inch board blue. Use a permanent black marker to draw the tic-tac-toe grid. Use chocolate coins as playing pieces. Player one uses the front of the coins, and player two uses the back of the coins.
