Oscar Parties

A Theme Oscar party celebration is always fun.
Create an Oscar Party theme for your next bash with gold and silver decorations. When decorating for the party, keep an eye out at the store for anything shiny and gold. Gold balloons, streamers and even glitter will add glitz and glam to your party. It might be fun to tie the gold balloons to a simple cardboard arch and set it out front so guests can walk through it on their way inside. Also literally roll out the red carpet. You can probably find a carpet store that will sell a roll of old red carpet cheaply. If you have the budget, hire a photographer to station himself out front and take pictures of the guests as they arrive. Inside appetizers can be fancy, delicate foods, like salmon rolls or ladyfingers and serve up the bubbly stuff, Champagne. When inviting guests in the first place you may wish to send them an invitation on gold paper in silver lettering that asks them to be celebrities at the silver screen party of the century. Of course the party can be black tie. It will give people a chance to air those expensive dresses and jackets that they don't often get to wear and have they picture taken professionally. After the party has been going for awhile you can announce the best and worst dressed guests and give them awards or certificates, which can be easy to make up on the computer. Another fun activity could be watching an old silver screen movie or two on a projector. When the party ends let guests out the back way to avoid fans and paparazzi. You can send people thank you for attending cards in a week or so, with a copy of each of their photographs taken at the party. These can also serve as belated party favors. Enjoy Oscar parties by planning ahead so during your celebration you are not running around setting up! Do a party walk through the day prior.
